French croissant recipe #Covidlifestyle

Ingredients:

  • 500 g of flour
  • 200 g of butter
  • 40 g of caster sugar or caster sugar
  • 28 cl of milk
  • 10 g of fresh baker’s yeast
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp. salt or fine salt

Instructions:

  1. Place the flour, sugar, salt, yeast and milk in a bowl.
    Knead gently so that the dough is not elastic.
  2. Form a sphere with the dough, film it and leave it covered to rest for a whole night (or at least 2 hours for those in a hurry).
  3. Take the dough and spread the butter on the center and close the dough on all 4 sides.
  4. Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, then fold it back together. Repeat the process 3 times to create layers.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry thinly and cut out triangles.
  6. Roll out the triangles from the base to the tip, giving them a crescent shape. Leave the croissants to rest for two hours.
  7. Turn on the oven at thermostat 8 (240°C).
  8. After resting, brush the crescents with beaten egg, taking care not to let them fall down.
  9. Bake 5 min in a hot oven then 10 to 15 min at thermostat 5/6 (160-170°C).
