From 6 to 7 September 2025, Singapore’s Orchard Road was transformed into an arena of thrill, creativity, and family fun. SO Chic had the privilege of joining the opening of the second edition of Ride in the City, a unique collaboration between Club Med and TRIFECTA, and what a ride it was!
Club Med needs little introduction. The pioneer of the all-inclusive holiday, it is celebrated worldwide for its resorts that blend adventure, culture, and relaxation. With decades of expertise in ski resorts, surfing holidays, and family-friendly experiences, Club Med has long been synonymous with unforgettable journeys.
TRIFECTA, on the other hand, is Singapore’s first-of-its-kind urban playground, bringing together surf, snow, and skate under one roof. Located in Somerset along Orchard Road, Trifecta recreates the thrill of snowboarding, skiing, and surfing with cutting-edge technology, making it possible to experience both alpine slopes and ocean waves without leaving the city.
Together, the two brands share a mission: to make world-class leisure and adventure experiences accessible to everyone, right here in Singapore.
This was the second edition of Ride in the City, and it came with exciting new additions. For the first time, classes were open to children aged 5 to 11, ensuring that the event catered not just to thrill-seeking adults but also to families with young adventurers.
The programme was packed with activities:
Immersive sports experiences — from snowboarding and skiing on advanced simulators to surfing in a state-of-the-art wave pool.
Creative family workshops — from decorating cookies to customising trendy bucket hats (the must-have accessory of the day).
Lifestyle corners — delicious bites, fun arts-and-crafts, bouncy castles, and even cold-therapy zones with plunge pools at 12°C and 6°C, plus a jacuzzi for recovery.
Competitions and showcases — including the thrilling Snowboard Freestyle Cup and the Surf Party!
And the best part? The event was free to enter, making it a buzzing weekend hotspot for locals and visitors alike.
The launch began with heartfelt speeches highlighting the shared values of Club Med and TRIFECTA : passion for travel, the joy of sharing, and the pursuit of extraordinary experiences. Key speakers included Alice Nguyen (Marketing Director), Olivier Monceau (VP Singapore & Malaysia), and CJ Wong (Event & Partnership Manager), who all set the tone for a weekend of discovery.
As guests, we were given a tour of TRIFECTA’s strikingly designed spaces — from immersive alpine-inspired interiors with snowy details to the dazzling surf pool where waves rolled with uncanny realism.
We were then treated to live demonstrations: professional instructors showcasing how skiing, snowboarding, and surfing can be taught to beginners and mastered by experts alike. Their talent was simply captivating.
Beyond the sports, the event carried a strong lifestyle element. Between DJ beats, colourful workshops, and gourmet bites, the atmosphere was electric yet family-friendly — the kind of place where laughter, music, and creativity filled the air.
One of the most memorable highlights? The grand lucky draw, where a mother and her daughter won an unforgettable trip to Japan — a 5-day, 4-night getaway to snowy Hokkaido.
Surf & snow in the tropics — Nowhere else in Singapore can you carve snowy slopes or catch waves indoors.
Family-friendly — Activities for kids as young as 5, plus free workshops, and fun zones.
World-class instructors — Learn from professionals with Club Med’s renowned training approach.
Unbeatable atmosphere — Music, competitions, and prizes — all in the heart of Orchard Road.
