Founded in 1847 by Louis-Francois Cartier, the house quickly earned a reputation for exquisite craftsmanship and innovative design, becoming a favorite among European royalty and aristocracy.

Cartier’s international prominence grew under the leadership of Louis-Francois’s grandsons — Louis, Pierre, and Jacques Cartier, who expanded the maison to London and New York in the early 20th century.
