Nothing denotes France or the French way of living than what may perhaps be the most iconic of our staples – a bakery. Through generation to generation, each and every one experiences the routine of going into their local bakery and purchasing their everyday favorite,
Whether it be a crispy baguette tradition to a delicious pain au chocolat, the classic croissant to traditional niche sweet treats, bakeries are quintessential pieces of the everyday, à la française.
Find the perfect spot for your fill of crispy, warm, soft, baked goods that are certified So Chic for a taste of Paris in the heart of the Lion City.
Freshly opened in 2025, Bastille Bakery is a gem sitting between the heritage shophouses of Joo Chiat. From savory to sweet, the bakery offers the full range of French treats, sandwiches, pastries, and breads one could ask for. At the heart of the bakery is tradition, discipline, and patience to create the perfect bakes — and, with an open kitchen, you can see the very values in action as chef Jean-Denis places every piece into the oven.
The bakery also hosts special events, like a French art workshop in April, making it just as much the space for a cultural center for the community as well as a delicious boulangerie!
