French thing to do: paint your wine with D’Gers at Alliance Française

Some evenings are meant to be savoured slowly — one sip, one brushstroke at a time.

On Thursday 12 March at 7 PM, our partner Alliance Française de Singapour unveils a new edition of its monthly artistic rendez-vous, Art & Bubbles, in collaboration with one of our own members, the talented multidisciplinary artist D’Gers.

This unique workshop invites guests into a sensory journey where wine tasting becomes creative inspiration. The evening begins with a guided tasting, encouraging you to explore aromas, flavours, memories and emotions. What does the wine awaken in you? A landscape? A fleeting memory? A burst of colour?

Then, under the guidance of D’Gers, you translate these sensations into watercolor. Abstract or figurative, bold or delicate, your artwork becomes a visual echo of what you tasted. Colours flow like aromas, shapes emerge like memories.

More than a workshop, Art & Bubbles perfectly reflects the spirit of Alliance Française: celebrating French culture through conviviality, creativity and shared experience. And with D’Gers’ distinctive Mix Media approach, rooted in sustainability, emotion and self-expression, the evening takes on an even deeper artistic dimension.

An artist trained in the Beaux-Arts tradition, active within Singapore’s vibrant creative community, and committed to eco-conscious creation, D’Gers brings both technical expertise and sensitivity to this intimate session.

All materials are provided, and the two-hour workshop unfolds in English at Alliance Française. Of course, a glass of champagne accompanies the experience, because art, in true French fashion, is best enjoyed with bubbles. 🥂
