French Things to Do in Singapore This August (2026)

This August, French culture takes center stage in Singapore. From culinary experiences and wine tastings to exhibitions, here’s our selection of the best ways to enjoy a little French flair throughout the month.

Merci Marcel has opened a weekly wine club every Thursday night of authentic, flavorful French wines to spend your evenings accompanied by.

The carefully selected beverages are accompanied by 3 house-made tapas, perfect to pair with the deep and flavorful wines.

The location is also currently adorned with abstract paintings currently on exhibition created by artist Vea Kant, on display until the end of the month! The perfect, artistic touch next to your plate, emblematic of the French appreciation of the arts.

From the prestigious and renowned Ballet of the Opéra national de Paris, the exhibition available at Alliance Française details the journey as well as the everyday of all dimensions of the institution. Whether it be the individual steps taken by the performers, their progress through the ranks, the costume designs, the stage, or ballet masters, all parts of the process are put under the spotlight to discover here in Singapore today.
