My name is Sinead Henry & I am the International Trainer for Biologique Recherche. I oversee the training in the Asia-Pacific Region.
I started in the beauty industry 20 years ago as a Beauty Therapist in my home country, Ireland. From there, I really wanted to work on my ongoing expertise & since I have been passionate for skincare from a very young age, I decided to start working as an aesthetician. Seven years later, I moved to Bangkok and worked as a Spa Specialist for MSPA International Group. I finally turned to operations management as Assistant Manager before joining Biologique Recherche in July 2021.
The subject of this interview is thus the launch of the Serum Collagene Originel! For the readers who are not familiar with this term, could you explain what collagen is and why it is important?
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body, found in the bones, muscles, skin, and tendons. Collagen forms a scaffold that provides strength and structure within the body. It is an essential component of connective tissue and I like to compare it with the glue holding the body’s cells together. There are 28 different types of collagens in our skin and that each has a very specific role. From the age of 25 our skin starts to lose 1% of collagen each year – so the skin will become thinner and start lacking firmness.

So, how does Collagen Original Serum work? What is the objective behind the development of such a product?
Collagene Originel is based on two formulatory axes resolutely oriented towards the deep restructuring of the skin. It will stimulate, at the gene and protein levels, the 4 main types of collagens (I, III, IV and VII) to redensify the skin in 3 dimensions and limit the appearance of wrinkles.
Collagens IV and VII will revitalize and rejuvenate the dermal-epidermal junction. It will thus boost dermal-epidermal exchanges that diminish with age. As for collagens I and III, they increase the density of the dermal mattress and improve the skin’s firmness.
The skin is thus deeply regenerated, tightened and smoothed. Its filling effect allows wrinkles and furrows to be plumped up by significantly reducing their length.

How does your Collagen Original Serum differ from other products on the market with the same objectives?
Firstly thanks to the use of Biologique Recherche’s patent active ingredient: our Type 0 Collagen from primitive marine planktonic organism. This collagen has not evolved in 600 million years! It is thus the purest form of collagen.
Secondly, our serum boosts four different types of collagen to redensify the skin in 3D and reduce the length of the wrinkles.
Last but not least, our test results showed that after 56 days of applying Collagene Originel twice-daily, the total length of wrinkles decreased by an average of 21%! We actually ran many tests to prove the effectiveness of Collagene Originel.
Can you tell us more about your Patented Type 0 Collagen?
Years ago, led by Dr Allouche and the Research and development team, the brand started to look back at the origins of collagen. All living beings on our planet are the result of complex mutations. Just like them, the collagen in our skin has evolved over the centuries, becoming increasingly differentiated: that’s why they decided to look for the mother of all collagen, found under the sea in a primitive marine planktonic organism. This is why we speak of type 0 as the original basis of collagen.
Are you targeting a specific audience with such a product?
Yes, the product is actually recommended for Skin Instants with established wrinkles.
What was the main difficulty encountered in the formulation / development of your serum?
The R&D had some troubles solubilizing the active molecule of type zero collagen.
Solubilization is however essential to allow the penetration of the active ingredient and therefore its performance.
They worked to determine the optimal concentration of collagen, to guarantee efficiency and qualitative experience.
Could you explain how to use it?
First, the skin must be cleansed with one of our cleansing milks. The second step consists in applying one of our P50 lotion – depending on the skin instant, followed by our Serum Collagene Originel. The Serum can be applied twice daily on the skin for maximum results!
